Experimental Study on the Use of Iron Tailings-Based Multicomponent Solid Waste as SCMs

A considerable amount of carbon dioxide is released during the preparation traditional Portland cement, which not in conformity with sustainable road. Developing supplementary cementitious material (SCMs) and reducing cement consumption are safe ways to solve this problem. Iron tailings (IOTs), a type mining waste from beneficiation process iron ore concentrate, can be used as SCMs concrete. In order tackle problem low compressive performance IOTs concrete, study develops multi-SCMs system based on IOTs. Mechanical properties microstructure samples different activator contents ratios were analyzed by strength, differential thermal–thermal gravimetric analysis (DTA-TG), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that strength composite gel blocks systems changed follows: ternary > binary unary system. (IOTs: Steel slag(SS):Phosphorus slag(PS) = 1:2:2) without was added so it resulted highest With increase content activators, shows decreasing trend. It well known DTA-TG, SEM, NaOH Na2SiO3 have an inhibitory effect secondary hydration reaction inhibit formation C-S-H gel.
